THOMAS G. AMBROSI, CPA, MST, CVA, PFS, ABV

Tom Ambrosi specializes in tax planning and business advisory services to commercial establishments in numerous industries, including professional services, manufacturing, and entrepreneurial R&D. He is also the firm’s specialist in the areas of business valuation, personal financial planning, forensic accounting, and estate planning.

As one of the founding partners of Ambrosi Donahue Congdon & Co., P.C., Tom began his career with Touche Ross & Co. (now Deloitte and Touche) in New York. In the years since, he has amassed more than 30 years’ experience in developing accounting, tax, and financial solutions for individuals, businesses and not-for-profit corporations.

He received his B.S. in accounting from Wilkes University in 1968 and a Master of Science in Taxation from Bentley College in 1976. He earned his New York CPA certificate in 1970, and his Massachusetts CPA certificate in 1974.

Tom has continued his education, and added even more professional specializations in the years that followed. In November of 2002, after several years of courses, studies, and examinations, he was named as a Certified Valuation Analyst by the National Association of Certified Valuation Analysts.

Furthering his expertise in the area of personal financial planning, he was certified by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants as a Personal Financial Specialist in August of 2005

Tom is extremely active in both professional and civic activities. Admitted to practice in New Hampshire in 1975, he is a Member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), where he is a member of the Taxation Division.

He is currently Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Anna Jaques Hospital. Previously, he served as Treasurer of Anna Jaques, and as Chairman of the Finance Committee. Tom also serves on the Board of Trustees for the Institution for Savings.

Other civic affiliations include: Member and Past President of the Greater Newburyport Chamber of Commerce; Member and Past President of the Newburyport Rotary Club; and Past President of the Society for the Development of Arts & Humanities, Inc.
